On October 21 of this year, the Chairman of the Board of JSC "SEZ "Seaport Aktau" Kabashev A.T. met with the management and representatives of the Iranian company "Kaveh", which owns the Port of Astara, which is one of the major ports of Iran. During the meeting, plans for the construction of a port in the region were presented, familiarization with the territory of the subzone #7 of the Aktau Seaport SEZ, which is a "port zone", was conducted. Following the results of familiarization with the activities of the FEZ, investors are planning to make a number of decisions aimed at developing the transport and logistics potential of the region.

The port of Astara is located on an area of about 60 hectares on the shore of the Caspian Sea, has all the necessary infrastructure, is the first private sector port in Iran operating on trade channels between Asia, Africa and Europe, has a sea, land and railway border with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
